This came into my inbox: 2015 October Platform Challenge (link). I almost deleted it. Almost. Then the voice on my left shoulder (we’ll call him Muninn) cawed, “You have been wanting to work on this skill as long as I can remember.” Not to be outdone, the voice on my right shoulder, (let’s just say he’s named Huginn) cackled, “I really think you should do this.”
So sleeves up, I am committed to this month of daily challenges! Here goes…
2015 October Platform Challenge: Day 4 – Claim Your Domain
The instructions for today are: “…claim your domain name. I’ve never made this a task in the past, because it costs money to register a domain name. Rather, I’ve strongly encouraged doing it. However, I think it’s so important to have a stable piece of online real estate–and the price is really so minimal–that it has to be a requirement for a writer platform.”
As soon as my eyes and brain read the first part of that, the following line popped into my head (spoken in a vaguely celestial voice): My domain shall be the dreams and imagination of those who read my words. Therein, using words as tools, shall I build my empire.
But then my celestial proclaimer tripped over “…to register a domain name…” and crash-landed his angelic butt onto “…piece of online real estate.” And my glorious celestial proclaimer had to stand up and say, “Oh… er. Yes, that.”
It appears I’ve already managed this step as well. Yay me!
